Integrative Medicine

Whole person care that blends the best of conventional and evidence based complementary practices.

At LoCicero Health, we’re launching a comprehensive Integrative Program that partners with you to uncover root causes, personalize your plan, and support lasting change. Our team includes a Integrative Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy, a Dietitian, Mental Health Counseling, and Behavioral Health working together to help you feel and function your best.

|What is integrative medicine?

Integrative medicine combines the most well researched aspects of conventional care with evidence based complementary therapies (like nutrition, movement, stress reduction, and manual therapies). It’s whole person and relationship centered, focusing on body, mind, and spirit using a systems based approach that asks, “Why is this happening?” rather than only “What diagnosis fits?”. By taking a detailed history, lifestyle mapping, and advanced testing when appropriate, we identify the biological and lifestyle patterns contributing to your symptoms, then build a personalized plan (food as medicine, movement, sleep, stress, targeted supplements, and medications when indicated). These approaches are complementary, not either/or, and they work best when coordinated with primary and specialty care.

|How our program helps

  • Root cause focus: We explore nutrition, gut health, hormones, inflammation, sleep, stress, environment, and social determinants of health to understand the drivers behind your condition.
  • Team based care: Your practitioner collaborates closely with physical therapists, massage therapists, and mental health/behavioral health clinicians for a cohesive plan.
  • Personalized roadmap: Clear goals, phased interventions, and coaching support to make changes sustainable.
  • Evidence informed: We prioritize therapies with research support and realworld outcomes, integrating them with your standard medical care.

|Conditions we commonly support

  • Metabolic and cardiovascular concerns (weight, prediabetes, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, hypertension)
  • Digestive issues (IBS, reflux, bloating, food sensitivities)
  • Hormone related symptoms (midlife transitions, low energy, sleep issues)
  • Autoimmune and inflammatory conditions
  • Chronic pain and musculoskeletal dysfunction
  • Stress, anxiety, mild mood concerns, and burnout
  • Long COVID and post viral fatigue (in coordination with your medical team)

We coordinate closely with your primary care and specialists—our goal is to complement, not replace, your existing care.

|What to expect as a new patient

  • Comprehensive intake: A 360° health history, medications, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, environment, and goals. We review prior labs, and order more in-depth additional testing when it will meaningfully guide care.
  • Personalized plan: Food first interventions, movement and recovery strategies, sleep and stress skills, targeted supplements or medications as appropriate, and referrals within our team (PT, dietitian, massage, acupuncture, counseling/behavioral health) when they add value.
  • Care coordination: We share key information with your other clinicians (with your permission) to keep everyone aligned.
  • Follow through: Regular follow ups to track progress and adjust the plan. We celebrate wins and troubleshoot barriers together.

|Our care philosophy

  • Whole person: Body, mind, and environment all matter, and so do your values and preferences.
  • Collaborative: You’re an active partner. We cocreate your plan and measure what matters to you
  • Pragmatic: We emphasize changes with the biggest payoff first. Testing and supplements are used thoughtfully, not reflexively.
  • Transparent: We review benefits, risks, costs, and alternatives so you can make informed choices.

|Why integrate care?

Many chronic conditions are driven by modifiable lifestyle and environmental factors. Integrating functional medicine with services like PT, massage, acupuncture, counseling, and behavioral health creates multiple “entry points” to healing, addressing inflammation, movement patterns, stress reactivity, sleep quality, and nutrition at the same time. This layered approach often helps you feel better sooner  while building skills for long term health.

|A note on evidence and safety

Our program draws from established academic centers and published outcomes research. We use therapies with the best balance of benefit and risk, communicate clearly with your other clinicians, and monitor your progress. If a therapy isn’t right for you or if a red flag symptom appears we’ll pivot and coordinate timely medical evaluation.
