| Comprehensive, Collaborative Foot and Ankle Care
The Podiatry Department at LoCicero Health delivers expert, patient-centered care for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, from common concerns to complex, chronic issues. Our skilled podiatrists treat heel pain, bunions, ingrown toenails, sports injuries, structural deformities, and diabetic foot complications with precision and compassion. Our approach is rooted in collaboration, ensuring each patient receives well-rounded care tailored to their unique needs.
Foot health is closely connected to a patient’s overall well-being, especially for those with chronic conditions. That’s why our podiatrists work closely with Primary Care, Endocrinology, Dermatology, and Rheumatology to deliver integrated, effective care. For patients with diabetes, our podiatry team partners with endocrinologists to identify and monitor early signs of neuropathy, ulcers, and poor wound healing—key concerns in preventing more serious complications, including amputations. Collaboration with primary care physicians allows for continuous monitoring of chronic conditions that affect foot health, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD) and hypertension.
Our partnership with Dermatology ensures expert care in treating skin conditions of the feet, including fungal infections, dermatitis, and chronic wounds. Toenail health is another focus, and our team provides treatment and maintenance for fungal toenails, thickened or ingrown nails, and nail trauma. Regular nail and skin care are vital for patients with limited mobility, circulation issues, or diabetes, and are performed with attention to hygiene and infection prevention.
Rheumatology collaboration helps manage foot and ankle complications related to autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and gout. These patients benefit from our expertise in treating joint pain, swelling, and deformities that can affect walking and balance.
The Podiatry Department is also focused on identifying and monitoring arterial and vascular disease of the lower extremities. Using diagnostic tools such as Doppler ultrasound and non-invasive vascular testing, we evaluate circulation, screen for PAD, and monitor for early signs of ischemia. Timely detection of vascular issues is essential in preventing limb-threatening complications.
| Interdisciplinary Team
Our interdisciplinary team includes not only podiatrists but also ultrasound technicians, podiatry assistants, and nurses. This support team ensures efficient care, from diagnostic imaging to wound care and follow-up management. Nurses and assistants help with dressing changes, offloading, patient education, and ensuring continuity of care.
At LoCicero Health, our Podiatry Department, combines advanced medical expertise with a team-based approach to deliver safe, thorough, and compassionate foot care. Whether managing chronic diseases or treating acute injuries, we are committed to improving our patients’ mobility, comfort, and quality of life.
